On top of Cowger Parking Garage

On top of Cowger Parking Garage

Since it snowed a little this morning, I thought I would take my camera with me so that after work, I could take some interesting downtown night pictures with some snow on the ground. By the time I left work for the day, the snow was nowhere to be found. So I walked up to the top of the parking garage and decided to take a few shots in the cold misty rain. I don’t think this one came out too bad, but I wish I knew how to take really good night photographs. One of these days I am going to read the manual that came with the camera. :)

Creasey Mahan Nature Preserve

Reflections, originally uploaded by me.

Today my friend Linda and I took a quick trip to the Creasey Mahan Nature Preserve, a wonderful little spot in Oldham County, KY.  It was an overcast day but it was very mild and quite pleasant for this time of year.  Linda and I swapped cameras for the fun of it and she and I took some photos, which I posted on flickr.  We ended the day having lunch at California Pizza Kitchen.  Nothing like a nice day walking in nature with a good friend, and finishing it off with some good food.  Later on, we each had a drink called the Promised Land, which was a first for me.  It’s a concoction made with Baileys Irish Cream and Barenjager.  Zowie!  That was nice!

Shooting Southern Indiana

Farm outside of Sellersburg, Indiana, originally uploaded by me.

This blog is not only about my life as a struggling runner, single person, working man, and thinker, but is also about my other pastimes, like photography. Yesterday the sun was shining a bit more than it had been lately, so I decided to venture out and take some pictures with my recently acquired D-80. It is quite a camera, and I am still learning how to use it, as well as the software it came with to deal with the RAW image format I use. Today I posted a few of the shots I took in a new folder at my flickr account called, appropriately enough, Southern Indiana. I will probably be filling that folder up with a lot more pictures, but for starters, I put 14 photos there.
